Terms of Participation

MOJOS FC, INC.  Soccer

1 ’ Liability statement: Player acknowledges that MOJOS FC, INC. (the “Club”) may refuse Player participation for any reason, at its sole discretion. Player further acknowledges that his participation with the Club is voluntary.  Soccer has inherent risks that can result in severe injuries.  Travel arrangements (including hotels, motels, meals and transportation) (collectively “travel arrangements”) are solely the responsibility of the Player.  The Club shall not be liable for any deficiency or inadequacy in travel arrangements.

You agree to release, defend and hold harmless the Club, its officers, directors, agents, employees, volunteers and their assigns from any claims (whether in tort or contract) from any person, entity or estate, in any forum that may arise by reason of property loss, injury, or death resulting from any cause including but not limited to the Player or other players having failed to properly carry out instructions from the Club or its officers, directors, agents, volunteers and/or employees.

2 ’ Organizer:  Each tournament will have a designated Organizer. He / She is appointed by the Board and is responsible for (A) Initiating the process of notifying the membership of the event; (B) Contact with the tournament organizers; (C) Work with the Board in setting the timelines and establishing cut-off dates for sign-ups, fees, team composition, activities and transportation if required; (D) Scheduling “practice” matches; (E) Working with the Enablers and any Committee Chairs on activities, entertainment, food, travel; (F) Communicating with the players and Enablers on Game Schedules and changes; and (G) Maintaining an Excel tracking sheet to include, but not limited to, Tournament details, Player and Spouse attendees with e-mail and cellular phone #’s, Player Roster, Financials, Accommodations, and Equipment needs.  Several prototypes have been established which can be used.  The Organizer can (H) Delegate group communication responsibilities to Enablers, Committee Chairs and Team Managers to aid the Organizer in spreading the workload and keeping everyone current on changes.

4 ’ Enablers:  Will work with and communicate with the Organizer as noted above. Will designate own Committee Chairs. Will communicate with the Enablers and the Organizer and possibly with the membership and/or Roster as to events timing and changes as they occur.

5 ’ Committee Chairs:  If needed, volunteers appointed by the Organizer or Enablers. Will follow Enabler guidelines.

6 ’ Team Managers:  Volunteers appointed by the Board.  Responsible for insuring (A) Team Roster and Organizer has any updated e-mail and cellular #’s; (B) Organize player positions and match rotation format to insure adequate playing time; (C) Working with organizer on practice matches; and (D) Will make a good faith effort to notify the Player Roster of match schedule changes.

7 ’ Withdrawal from Tournament Commitment:  All fees are non-refundable, but may be and can be transferable to other events at the discretion of the Board.

8 ’ Team Rosters:  Registrants will be assigned to rosters by age, however, registrants are allowed to make a request, to play down for instance, by making this request in the comments box of the registration form.  If the organizers are able to fulfill this request the registrant will be notified.  Roster size will be based on the number of matches and days of a tournament to insure everyone has adequate playing time and is ultimately at the discretion of the team manager, but generally will be 16-18 players.  rev 18NOV2017

9 ’ Players are responsible for:

A ’ Must meet all timelines and cut-off dates for committing to sign up, pay fees, and submit requests for information. 

B ’ You cannot be on a Team Roster without signing up and paying fees.  Showing up at a tournament without registering and paying fees is unacceptable and you will not be allowed to participate.

  1. An exception can be made if a team is in need of additonal players;  with a majority consensus of the team roster and manager plus all fees are paid prior to playing.

If you register without paying your fees you will be placed on a waiting list until said fees are paid.  By doing so, you risk the possibility of the rosters filling up before you pay your fees and then you will not be able to participate.  Mojos FC will not be liable for any and all costs and/or hardships incurred by registrant including, but not limited to, time off, reservations, lodging, transportation, etc because the registrant failed to pay their fees on a timely basis.  rev 18NOV2017

C ’ Insuring the Organizer and Team Manager has your latest contact information (ie. e-mail address and cellular #) for ease in communication.

D ’ Obtaining the necessary gear to be properly attired while participating in matches.  This includes, but is not limited to, a Club* jersey kit, black shorts, Club* socks (first two pair included in jersey kit), shin guards, appropriate footwear, and a valid ASA player card if required.  Your gear needs should be known and ordered at the time of your event registration.  [*Club items designated by the club and obtained through its internal supply.]

E ’ Checking in with your Team Manager (or another Team Manager or the Organizer or your Team Players) at the event-site to insure the published match timing, site and field location are current and unchanged.

F ’ Keeping yourself informed is your responsibility. Event activity, match field and timing do change by the Host Organizer the last few days before the event or during the event. If you depart your home several days before the event, please check your e-mail via your own device, hotel lobby computer, or public library. In the event you are already at the site, please note items 6.C and 6.D above.

G ’ Conduct & Consequences:  Mojos FC players are expected to conduct themselves with adult decorum on and off the pitch.  We stress, require and expect 'fair play' at all times.  This is a condition of participation!  Yelling, screaming, berating, taunting, profanity and demeaning ethnic or religious comments directed to any Opponent, other Mojos FC players, Referees, or bystanders on or off the pitch will not be tolerated. 

 

Play deemed dangerous with disregard for 'fair play', which could or does result in an injury, and could or does result in a Yellow or Red card, for the same result as injury, and charged player is ejected from the match or tournament, will be subject to a Mojos FC review by its Board of Directors.  Egregious acts could result in a temporary or permanant suspension from any future involvment with the Mojos FC.

 

Such actions could or will affect your participation and your Team's performance.  Use discretion in what you say and do to be respectful of your fellow teammates, opponents, Enablers, guests, officials and bystanders to uphold the Mojos FC image.

 

H ' As a registered and paid participant in an event for the Mojos FC, playing for another team in the same event could result in an immediate termination of participation in current event, forfeiture of all player and related fees, and board review of future participation. rev 18NOV17

 

These guidelines can be changed without notice at the sole discretion of the Mojos FC board of directors.
